Felix Breisach (born March 23, 1961 in Graz ) is an Austrian director and producer with a focus on cultural documentaries and artist portraits. Breisach lives and works in Vienna .

Life

Felix Breisach is a son of the writer, cultural manager and radio director Emil Breisach . From 1983, worked Felix Breisach as manager and production manager for the ORF , subsequently for BBC , RAI , ZDF and for American film productions. He completed internships with Herbert Wise in London and with ZDF in Munich .

From 1986 to 1990 Felix Breisach was employed as an editor at ORF in the editorial department of art pieces . His area of ​​activity included the development of national and international cultural topics and their implementation.

Felix Breisach has been working as a freelance producer and director since 1990 and has worked for television stations in the course of this. He produced documentaries in the field of art and culture or directed for ORF , ZDF , NHK , BBC , RAI , WDR , BR , ARTE , ARD , NDR .

Breisach is the designer and producer of “around 150 documentaries” in the field of art and culture “and just as many with opera and theater”. Felix Breisach's first feature film was released in 2014. The documentary is based on the discovery of 276 letters from Himmler and his wife. The film was named Best Documentary at the Jerusalem International Film Festival and participated in numerous film festivals.

With the Grätzl and town series Mein Bezirk , in which celebrities talk about their childhood in the respective locality, Breisach has been attracting a high level of audience interest since 2011.

Breisach is married to the Munich violinist Maud Breisach, b. Piete.
