Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré is a Burkina Faso politician and Prime Minister of Burkina Faso since January 24, 2019 . After Paul Kaba Thieba and his cabinet resigned, President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré appointed him Prime Minister. Dabiré had previously represented Burkina Faso in the West African Economic and Monetary Union and was minister under the then President Blaise Compaoré from 1994 to 1996 , with Kaboré being Prime Minister at the time.

Career

From 1984 to 1988 Dabiré worked under Thomas Sankara as director of studies and projects in the Ministry of Economics and Planning. He then became Director General for Cooperation in the Ministry of Economy and Planning. He held this position until 1992.

Dabiré headed the health department from 1992 until 1997 when he was responsible for Burkina Faso's department for secondary education, higher education and scientific research, a position he held until 2000. During this time he was a member of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso for the party's Congress for Democracy and Progress. After his re-election to the National Assembly in 2002, Dabiré was a member of parliament for another five years.
