Luc-Adolphe Tiao

Luc-Adolphe Tiao (born June 4, 1954 in Tenkodogo , Upper Volta , today Burkina Faso ) is a diplomat and politician from the West African state of Burkina Faso. Tiao is a member of the CDP .

Life

Tiao studied journalism at Dakar University from 1977 to 1980 and then law in Ouagadougou . His professional career was shaped by this background for a long time, Tiao held various functions in the media, in administration and in diplomacy. Before being appointed Prime Minister, he had been Burkina Faso's Ambassador to France since 2008 .

As part of a government reshuffle in response to unrest and mutinies by individual troops and police forces, Tiao was appointed Prime Minister of Burkina Faso on April 18, 2011 by President Blaise Compaoré .

On October 30, 2014, the government, including Prime Minister Tiao, was ousted by the military .
