Tertius Zongo

Tertius Zongo (born May 18, 1957 in Koudougou , Upper Volta , today Burkina Faso ) is a politician from the West African state of Burkina Faso. From June 4, 2007 to April 18, 2011, he was Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, and Luc-Adolphe Tiao was appointed as his successor .

Zongo studied economics in Dakar ( Senegal ) and Nantes ( France ). Between 1995 and 2000 he held various ministerial posts, including that of finance minister. For several years he was Burkina Faso's representative at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and Secretary General of the Burkinabe Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2002 he entered the diplomatic service. Most recently before his appointment as Prime Minister he was Burkina Faso's ambassador to the USA .
