Stephan Fanderl

Stephan Fanderl (born September 29, 1963 in Ingolstadt ) is a German manager and was CEO of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof GmbH until June 2020 .

Fanderl is the son of a Bavarian Edeka dealer. After completing his Abitur at Apian-Gymnasium , an apprenticeship as a retail salesman and military service, he studied business administration at the University of Regensburg and the University of Cologne and was then awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. He expanded his education at the Sophia University in Tokyo .

In industry circles, Fanderl is considered to be extremely ambitious. The Frankfurter Rundschau described him as "one of the most prominent trade managers in the country".
