The EU-3 is an abbreviation used for the three most influential nations in the European Union  - the United Kingdom , France and Germany  . This abbreviation appears mostly in connection with the negotiations between the three states with Iran regarding its nuclear development program .

The abbreviation EU-3 + 3 denotes the group of states United Kingdom, France, Germany, United States , Russia and China . It was coined when these three other states joined the diplomatic efforts for Iran's activities. The abbreviations E3 + 3 , E3 / EU + 3 (EU-3 + High Representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy + 3) and P5 + 1 (the five veto powers + Germany) are also largely synonymous with EU-3 + 3. used.
