Graciela Pomponio

Graciela Pomponio (born April 12, 1926 in Buenos Aires ; † February 9, 2007 there ) was an Argentine guitarist .

Life

Pomponio studied guitar with María Luisa Anido at the Conservatorio Nacional Carlos López Buchardo in Buenos Aires. During her studies she met her future husband Jorge Martínez Zárate . They formed the duo Pomponio Zárate. Together they played at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall in New York, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. Since 1948 she taught in Argentina, most recently as a professor at the Conservatory in Buenos Aires. Her students include Ernesto Bitetti , Roberto Aussel , Osvaldo Parisi , Raul Maldonado , Horacio Ceballos , Miguel Angel Girollet , Enrique Núñez , Lucio Nunez , Walter Enrique Heinze and Eduardo Frasson .
