The 13th ice hockey world championships of the U18 juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF are the ice hockey world championships of 2011 in the age group of under-eighteen year olds (U18). Between March 19 and April 24, 2011, a total of 42 national teams took part in the seven tournaments of the top division and divisions I to III.
The world champions became the sixth time the United States team , which, like last year , beat Sweden 4-3 after extra time in the final . The German team was able to finish the tournament in sixth place after being promoted again last year, while Switzerland took seventh place in the top division. Austria was sovereign first in Group A of Division II and thus rose back to Division I.

Japan canceled participation in Group A of Division I due to the Tōhoku earthquake and its immediate aftermath. The Mongolia withdrew their team due to financial difficulties and lack of equipment from the tournament Group A Division III back.

The U18 world championship of the top division was held from April 14th to 24th 2011 in Germany . The games took place in the Saxon cities of Crimmitschau and Dresden .
Ten national teams took part in the tournament, playing in two groups of five teams each.

After the group matches in the preliminary round, the two group winners qualify directly for the semi-finals. The runners-up and thirds in the group each play a qualifying game for participation in the semi-finals. The fourth and fifth of the group games contest - if the result of the direct encounter from the preliminary round is taken with them - the relegation round and determine two relegated to Division I.
