Ingólfur Elíasson (born November 4, 1993 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been under contract with Skautafélag Reykjavíkur in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2015 .

Career

Ingólfur Elíasson began his career as a hockey player at Skautafélag Akureyrar , for whom he made his debut in the Icelandic ice hockey league as a teenager . In 2010 and 2011 he was Icelandic national champion with his team . He then moved to Mjölby Hockey in the J20 Elit , the second highest junior division in Sweden. In 2013 he returned to Akureyri and became Icelandic champion again in 2014 and 2015 with Skautafélag. In 2015 he moved to the capital club Skautafélag Reykjavíkur .

International

Ingólfur Elíasson played for Iceland as a youth. He initially participated in the U18 World Championships in 2009 and 2011 when he was voted the tournament's best defender, in Division III and in 2010 in Division II. With the U20 selection of the Icelanders, he took part in the 2010 and 2012 World Championships , when he was also the best defender of the tournament as the best goal setter, in Division III and in 2011 , 2013 in Division II.

In parallel to his appearances in the junior teams, Ingólfur Elíasson already played in the men's national team . He made his debut as a 17-year-old at the 2011 World Cup in Division II. He also represented the Northmen in Division II in 2012 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 .
