Diego Linares (born June 21, 1993 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican ice hockey player who has been playing for Lomas Verdes in Mexico again since 2014.

Career

Diego Linares began his career as a hockey player with Lomas Verdes. In 2009/10 he played for the PF Changs from Phoenix in a US U16 league. When the semi-professional league Mexicana Elite was founded in 2010 , he moved to the Aztec Eagle Warriors , one of the four founding clubs of the league, with which he immediately became Mexican champions. Since 2014 he has played again for Lomas Verdes.

International

In the junior division, Gómez represented Mexico at the U18 World Championships in 2009 in Division II and in 2010 and 2011 , when he was voted the best player of his team and the best striker of the tournament, in Division III and the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2009 , 2010 and 2012 and Division III 2011 and 2013 on the ice.

With the men's national team , Gómez took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2013 and 2015 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi , in which the Mexicans failed in the pre-qualification.
