In July 2011, the defender signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Wild but stayed in Sweden for another season. For the 2012/13 season he moved to North America and initially played for the Minnesota farm team, the Houston Eros , in the American Hockey League . After nine missions in which he scored four points, he was finally appointed to the Minnesota Wild squad for the first time in January 2013 after the start of the season in the NHL.
