The Skåre Bollklubb is established in 1935 Swedish Hockey Club of Karlstad . The first team last played in Division 3, the fifth division in Swedish gaming. For the 2014/15 season, the club was completely transferred to Färjestad BK .

history

The club was founded in 1935 under the name Skåre Bollklubb and was initially a football club. In the 1950s, interest in ice hockey grew, so that a department for this sport was established. At that time, the club began playing in Division 4, a regional league. In 1967 the club rose to Division 3. In the early 1990s, the club made it to the third-class Division 2 . In 1999, the team achieved the greatest success in the club's history when the first team rose to Division 1 . The club was able to establish itself in this league.

In addition to the men's team, the club traditionally focused primarily on the youth work. When the club moved to the Löfbergs Lila Arena in 2001, a collaboration with Färjestad BK began , which has been intensified over the years. The Skåre BK operated junior teams for U18 and U20. The best players from these teams were later used at Färjestad BK and continued their careers there, while the remaining players stayed at Skåre BK and formed the men's team. As a result, this was usually the team with the lowest average age in Division 1. Before the 2011/12 season, Färjestad BK decided to set up a J20 SuperElit team itself , so that Skåre BK ran out of players. Therefore, the club withdrew from Division 1 to Division 3.

In 2012, the men's team stopped playing for financial reasons. As a result, the club continued to work with young talent and maintained a women's team. Initially, there were plans to merge Skåre BK with one or two ice hockey clubs in the region in order to remain competitive. Since these plans failed, Skåre BK went completely to Färjestad BK for the 2014/15 season . The latter is now running a women's team for the first time in history .

Venue

The home stadium of Skåre BK was the Löfbergs Lila Arena with over 8,000 seats, which is owned by Färjestad BK . In addition, the club used the smaller Kobbs Arena, especially in the youth field. The home games of the men's team in Division 1 were attended by an average of 150 paying spectators.
