At the same time he played on loan for Mora IK in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, and Skåre BK - Färjestad's cooperation partner - in third-rate division 1. For Skåre BK, he had played for the first time in Division 1 a year earlier.
The 2010/11 season began Nygren as a loan player at the second division Bofors IK . In the further course of the season he was able to prevail at Färjestad BK and scored seven goals in a total of 36 Elitserien games for the FBK and made 18 templates. With the team from Karlstad, for whom he had also played a game in the European Trophy in the pre-season , he became Swedish champions for the first time in his career at the end of the season . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2011 in the fourth round as a total of 113th player by the Canadiens de Montréal .
In May 2013 Nygren received a two-year contract by the Canadiens and was for the 2013/14 season in the squad of the Hamilton Bulldogs appointed. After 16 games in the AHL, however, he left the team and returned to Färjestad. There he was appointed assistant captain and scored 20 scorer points in the remaining 25 games of the season. In the 2016/17 season he was the most dangerous defender in the Swedish league with eleven goals.
