Lukas Stoop (* 1. March 1990 ) is a Swiss ice hockey defender , who since 2018 again at HC Davos is under contract.
Career
Stoop began his career with the GCK Lions and played for its elite A-Juniors. In the 2006/07 season he made his debut in National League B for the GCK Lions. He also played four games in the NLB for the Swiss U20 national team . In May 2007 HC Davos signed the junior player for two years. Thereupon due process was initiated, since both the GCK Lions and the ZSC Lions registered rights to the player and insisted on transfer fees.
On October 17, 2007, Stoop scored his first NLA goal for Davos in the game against Kloten Flyers . At the beginning of November 2007 an arbitration court decided that HC Davos had to transfer 200,000 francs to the GCK Lions, as the claims of the ZSC Lions had not been proven. After four years in Davos, he won his first championship title with the Graubünden team in 2011 .
In December 2011 Stoop signed a three-year contract with league competitor Kloten Flyers , which was valid from the 2012/13 season.
After EHC Kloten's relegation, Stoop returned to HC Davos in 2018.
International
Lukas Stoop has been used in Switzerland's youth national teams several times. He completed his first major tournament in 2006 at the division's U18 World Championship , where he was promoted to the top division with the U18 team. A year later , as in 2008, he was again a member of the U18 squad at the World Cup. With the Swiss U20 team , he took part in the top division of this age group in 2008 and 2010 . After relegation, he played for the Confederates in 2009 in Division I, where he was immediately promoted again.
He made his debut in his country's men's selection in the 2015/16 season.
