The 2007/08 season was the 61st regular hosting of the second-class Swiss National League B . The reigning Swiss National League B champion was EHC Biel , who missed promotion as the team lost 4-1 in the league qualification against the SCL Tigers . The only newcomers to the NLB were the HC Neuchâtel Young Sprinters , who were the only participants in the finals of the first division to apply for promotion. No play-outs were played in the NLB either this season or the previous season.

Since no team from the first division took advantage of the promotion opportunity, and both Chur and Martigny withdrew, the NLB was played in 2008/09 with eleven teams.
