The 2010/11 season was the 64th regular hosting of the second-class Swiss National League B . The EHC Visp prevailed in the playoff finals in four matches against Lausanne HC and won its second NLB championship after 1960. No team from the first division was promoted to the National League B due to lack of interest.

The NLB 2010/11 was played with the same teams that had finished the previous season. The following ten teams belonged to the second division in the 2010/11 season:

mode

The season was divided into two parts; a qualification and a final round. In the qualification, the ten clubs played five times against each opponent since the 2009/10 season , so 45 rounds were completed.

Then the best eight teams determined the Swiss B champions in play-off style. The quarter-finals , semi-finals and the final were played according to the best of seven mode .

The winner of the final plays against the loser of the NLA play-outs in a best-of-seven relegation.

Play-offs

Since 2007, the four best-ranked clubs have been allowed to choose an opponent from positions 5-8 in the table in sequence for the quarter-finals. The play-offs were played in the best-of-seven mode.
