Ryan Hartman (born September 20, 1994 in Hilton Head Island , South Carolina ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Minnesota Wild from the National Hockey League since July 2019 . Before that, he worked for almost four years in the Chicago Blackhawks organization , one year with the Nashville Predators and half a year with the Philadelphia Flyers .
Career
Ryan Hartman was born in South Carolina but moved to West Dundee , Illinois at the age of two . In nearby Chicago , he played for the Chicago Mission junior team in his youth , before he was accepted into the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP), the central talent factory of the US ice hockey association, at the beginning of the 2010/11 season . Henceforth the attacker with the NTDP took the game operation of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and represented his country at the same time on an international level, he won at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in 2011 the silver and in the U18 World Cup in 2012 , the Gold medal. He then retired from the junior program due to age and moved to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Plymouth Whalers for the 2012/13 season . There he scored 60 points in 56 games in his OHL debut season , while he also won the gold medal with the U20 national team at the 2013 World Cup . After this season, Hartman, who was also represented at the CHL Top Prospects Game 2013, was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2013 in 30th place by the Chicago Blackhawks . For now, however, he spent another season with the Whalers in the OHL, in which he again participated in the U20 World Cup.
At the end of the 2013/14 season, Hartman moved to the organization of the Blackhawks after he had already signed an entry-level contract in November 2013 . Hartman made his professional debut at the Rockford IceHogs from the American Hockey League (AHL), the Blackhawks' farm team , and had nine missions and seven points by the end of the season. In Rockford, the winger also spent much of the following season 2014/15, before he was first called into the squad of the Blackhawks in February 2015 and subsequently made his debut in the National Hockey League . In total, he came on five missions, followed by only three more the following year; however, he was appointed to the AHL All-Star Classic at the IceHogs . At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Hartman established himself in the Blackhawks' squad and is now regularly used in the NHL.
After four years in the organization of the Blackhawks, Hartman was handed over to the Nashville Predators in February 2018 at the trade deadline including a five-round vote in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft . In return, Chicago received Victor Ejdsell , a first-round and a fourth-round vote in the same draft. The attacker played for the Predators almost exactly a year before he was transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers . With him switched to a conditional four-round suffrage, while Nashville received Wayne Simmonds . Hartman completed 19 games for the Flyers by the end of the season, who were subsequently not interested in any further employment of the striker. A few days before the contract expired, they transferred him to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Tyler Pitlick . There, however, he did not sign a new contract, but instead joined the Minnesota Wild as a free agent for two years .
