Rasmus Bengtsson (born May 14, 1993 in Landskrona ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Rögle BK in the Svenska Hockeyligan since May 2014 and is currently on loan to IF Björklöven from the HockeyAllsvenskan .
Career
Rasmus Bengtsson began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of IF Lejonet. From there he moved to Rögle BK , for whose professional team he made his debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, in the 2010/11 season . In his rookie year , the defender scored two goals and provided seven assists in 45 games. With his team he qualified for the Kvalserien , in which he missed promotion to the Elitserien with Rögle . During the promotion round, he prepared a goal in six games.
With his achievements he was able to convince the talent scouts and was selected after the season first in the KHL Junior Draft in the fourth round as the 80th player of Salawat Yulayev Ufa and then in the NHL Entry Draft in the second round as the 59th player in total the Florida Panthers . Between 2011 and 2013 Bengtsson was on the ice for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the junior league United States Hockey League .
In the season 2013/14 he played for the VIK Västerås HK before in May 2014. within the league for Rögle BK changed and with the team at the end of the season in the Svenska Hockey Ligan rise. In September 2015 the Swede was loaned to the second division club IF Björklöven .
International
For Sweden , Karlsson took part in the 2011 U18 World Junior Championship , where he and his team won the silver medal. He contributed to this success with four assists in six games.
