Anton Slepyshev ( Russian Антон Владимирович Слепышев ; English transcription: Anton Slepyshev * 13. May 1994 in Penza ) is a Russian ice hockey player who since July 2018 when HC CSKA Moscow in the Continental Hockey League is under contract.

Career

Anton Slepyschew began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Disel Pensa , where he was active until 2011. Then the winger was selected in the KHL Junior Draft 2011 as the overall first by Metallurg Novokuznetsk . With the professional team of Metallurg Novokuznetsk, he was able to earn a regular place in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) straight away in the 2011/12 season. In the following season he was able to build on these performances, so that he drew the attention of other KHL clubs to himself. Since Metallurg was in financial difficulties at that time, Slepyschew was handed over to Salawat Julajew Ufa in early December 2012 in return for payment of compensation .

Slepyschew stayed in Ufa for almost two and a half years before signing a three-year entry contract with the Edmonton Oilers from the National Hockey League in May 2015 . The Oilers had selected him two years earlier in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in 88th position.

After three years in North America, in which he could never really establish himself in the NHL, Slepyschew returned to his homeland and moved to HK CSKA Moscow in the KHL.

International

For Russia Slepyschew took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2011 , where he won the bronze medal with his team. He himself scored three goals and one assist in seven games and was voted one of the top three players on his team. At the Junior World Championships in 2013 , he won another bronze medal with the U20 selection of his home country.

In the senior sector, he made his debut for the Russian national team at the Euro Hockey Tour 2014/15 .
