Malcolm Subban (born December 21, 1993 in Rexdale , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League since February 2020 . His brothers PK and Jordan are also ice hockey players.
Career
Subban first played between 2010 and 2013 for the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League and was selected during this time in the NHL Entry Draft 2012 in the first round in 24th place by the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League .
At the start of the 2013/14 season he finally took the Bruins signed, put him to the end of season 2016/17 with the exception of two NHL games for Boston but only in the American Hockey League with their farm team , the Providence Bruins a . When he was placed on the waiver at the beginning of October 2017 after preparing for the 2017/18 season , the newly founded Vegas Golden Knights selected him from there . There he stood in the squad as a substitute for Marc-André Fleury . With the team he surprisingly reached the final of the Stanley Cup in the 2018 playoffs , but lost to the Washington Capitals there .
After three years in Las Vegas, the Golden Knights gave him to the Chicago Blackhawks at the Trade Deadline in February 2020, including Slava Demin and a second-round vote for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft . In return, Robin Lehner moved to Nevada.
International
Malcolm Subban represented his home country in several international tournaments. In 2011 he took part in the U18 Junior World Championship , and in 2013 in the U20 Junior World Championship . In both tournaments he finished fourth in the final ranking as a regular goalkeeper.
