Stan Bowman

Stanley Glenn Bowman (born June 28, 1973 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey official and has been the current general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks since July 14, 2009 . His father Scotty Bowman won the Stanley Cup nine times as head coach .

Career

Bowman graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in finance and computing in 1995 .

He joined the Chicago Blackhawks in 2001 and served as an assistant general manager for the next four years. He was then promoted to Director of Hockey Operations and held this position until 2007. At that time he was responsible for the financial aspects, scouting and cooperation with teams from the minor league . On July 14, 2009, he was named general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks after his predecessor Dale Tallon was ousted from the Blackhawks. In his first season as general manager, he won the franchise from Chicago once the coveted Stanley Cup and repeated this success in 2013 and, 2015.
