Ryan Michael Carpenter (born January 18, 1991 in Oviedo , Florida ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League since July 2019 . Previously spent Center two years in the organization of Vegas Golden Knights and three more in the San Jose Sharks .
Career
Carpenter played during his junior years first between 2009 and 2011 for the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League and then until March 2014 for Bowling Green State University in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .
Ungedraftet the striker was following his last college year by the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League under contract, which from then on it until the spring of 2015 at their farm team , the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League inserting. With the relocation of the team, he came to the AHL for the San Jose Barracuda in autumn 2015 . He finished the 2015/16 season as the team's best scorer and template provider and was awarded the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award by the league for his special commitment to society. He also made his NHL debut for the San Jose Sharks. After commuting between the AHL and NHL squads in the 2016/17 season , he got a permanent place in the Sharks squad at the beginning of the 2017/18 season . In December 2017, the Sharks finally tried to send him back to the Barracuda via the waiver , but the Vegas Golden Knights selected him there . With the team he surprisingly reached the final of the Stanley Cup in the 2018 playoffs , but lost to the Washington Capitals there .
In July 2019, he signed a three-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks .
