Oviedo is a city in Seminole County in the US state of Florida with 33,342 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Oviedo borders the city of Winter Springs to the west and is traversed by the Econlockhatchee River . The city is about 10 km south of Sanford and 25 km northeast of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 33,342 inhabitants were distributed over 11,720 households. The population density was 846.2 inh / km². 81.9% of the population identified themselves as white, 0.6% as African-American , 0.2% as Native American and 3.8% as Asian Americans . 2.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.8% to several ethnic groups. 16.3% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 46.7% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 15.6% of all households. 80.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.99 people and the average family size was 3.28 people.
31.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 11.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 35 years. 49.2% of the population were male and 50.8% were female.
The median annual income was $ 83,742, with 6.7% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 84.80% of the population, 12.01% spoke Spanish and 3.19% spoke another language.

The crime rate in 2010 was 169 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were three murders, eight rapes, nine robberies, 58 assaults, 106 break-ins, 438 thefts, 20 car thefts and two arson attacks.
