Goldenrod is a census-designated place (CDP) in the counties Orange and Seminole in the US state Florida with 12,039 inhabitants (status: 2010).

Goldenrod is about 10 km northeast of Orlando . The CDP is traversed by Florida State Roads 426 , 436 and 551 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 12,039 inhabitants were distributed over 5,790 households. The population density was 1796.9 inh / km². 77.6% of the population identified themselves as white , 9.2% as African-American , 0.4% as Native American and 3.0% as Asian Americans . 6.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.3% to several ethnic groups. 22.2% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 25.3% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 20.2% of all households. 53.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.30 people and the average family size was 2.93 people.

23.5% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 35.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 16.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 33 years. 52.4% of the population were male and 47.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 34,007, with 24.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 82.66% of the population, 15.78% spoke Spanish and 1.46% had another mother tongue.
