Tangerine is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 2865 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Tangerine is about 30 km northwest of Orlando . The CDP is affected by US Highway 441 ( SR 500 ).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 2865 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 971 households. The population density was 242.8 inh / km². 66.4% of the population identified themselves as whites , 20.5% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 10.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.5% to several ethnic groups. 21.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 33.7% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 30.9% of all households. 74.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.74 people and the average family size was 3.17 people.

27.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 22.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 43 years. 50.0% of the population were male and 50.0% were female.
