Fairview Shores is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 10,239 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Fairview Shores is bordered by the cities of Orlando , Maitland , Winter Park, and Eatonville . The CDP is traversed by Interstate 4 , US Highway 441 ( SR 500 ) and Florida State Roads 423 , 424 , 426 and 434 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 10,239 inhabitants were distributed over 4,921 households. The population density was 1296.1 inh / km². 69.9% of the population identified themselves as whites , 18.1% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 3.7% as Asian Americans . 4.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.8% to several ethnic groups. 14.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 25.6% of all households and persons aged at least 65 years in 22.7% of all households. 53.5% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.28 people and the average family size was 2.97 people.

22.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 29.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 18.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 39 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 40,089, with 25.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 88.91% of the population, 7.87% spoke Spanish and 3.22% had another mother tongue.
