Edgewood is a city in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 2503 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Edgewood is bordered by the cities of Orlando and Belle Isle .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 2503 inhabitants were distributed among 1137 households. The population density was 807.4 inh / km². 79.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 10.6% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 4.4% as Asian Americans . 2.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.7% to several ethnic groups. 13.4% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 30.9% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 27.3% of all households. 68.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.02.

23.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.0% were 60 years or older. The mean age was 43 years. 49.5% of the population were male and 50.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 74,167, with 5.6% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 89.52% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 10.48%.
