Azalea Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 12,556 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Azalea Park is directly adjacent to Orlando . Florida State Roads 50 , 408 ( Spessard L. Holland East-West Expressway , toll), 436 , 551 and 552 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 12,556 inhabitants were distributed over 4,948 households. The population density was 1512.8 inh / km². 67.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 10.3% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 3.7% as Asian Americans . 14.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 4.2% to several ethnic groups. 59.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 21.5% of all households lived in 38.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 68.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.82 people and the average family size was 3.30 people.

28.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 31.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 26.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 14.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 33 years. 49.5% of the population were male and 50.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 37,687, with 19.3% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 61.97% of the population, 36.23% spoke Spanish and 1.80% had another mother tongue.
