Belle Isle is bordered by the cities of Orlando and Edgewood .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5988 inhabitants were distributed over 2596 households. The population density was 998.0 inh / km². 91.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 3.1% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 1.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 11.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 29.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 30.4% of all households. 71.1% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.79 people and the average family size was 2.93 people.

22.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 36.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 24.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 49.9% of the population were male and 50.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 71,273, with 10.8% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.81% of the population, 3.97% spoke Spanish and 1.22% had another mother tongue.
