Lake Butler is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County in the US state of Florida with 15,400 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lake Butler completely surrounds the urban area of Windermere , borders the towns of Ocoee and Winter Garden to the north and is about 5 km west of Orlando . The CDP is crossed by Florida State Road 429 ( Daniel Webster Western Beltway , toll road).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 15,400 inhabitants were distributed over 6,063 households. The population density was 487.3 inh / km². 79.9% of the population identified themselves as whites , 6.6% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 9.4% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.3% to several ethnic groups. 11.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 17.1% of all households lived in 47.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 84.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.03 people and the average family size was 3.30 people.

32.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 35.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 13.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 49.3% of the population were male and 50.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 123,042, with 2.0% of the population living below the poverty line.
