Heathrow is a census-designated place (CDP) in Seminole County in the US state of Florida with 5896 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Heathrow borders the city of Lake Mary to the east and is about 10 km southwest of Sanford and about 20 km north of Orlando . The CDP is affected by Interstate 4 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5896 inhabitants were distributed over 2711 households. The population density was 818.9 inh / km². 83.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 4.1% as African-Americans , 0.2% as Indians, and 9.4% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.8% to several ethnic groups. 9.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 33.0% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 26.8% of all households. 72.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.43 people and the average family size was 2.89 people.

24.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 43 years. 47.6% of the population were male and 52.4% were female.
