Chuluota is a census-designated place (CDP) in Seminole County in the US state of Florida with 2,483 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Chuluota borders directly on the city of Oviedo to the west and is located about 20 km southeast of Sanford and about 25 km northeast of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 2483 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 837 households. The population density was 528.3 inh / km². 91.3% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.9% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 2.2% as Asian Americans . 2.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 10.6% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 17.6% of all households lived in 37.9% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 74.2% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.76 people and the average family size was 3.11 people.

27.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 27.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 12.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 37 years. 49.2% of the population were male and 50.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 63,535, with 9.9% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 94.29% of the population and Spanish spoke 5.71%.
