The 4th ice hockey world championships of the U18 juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF were the ice hockey world championships of 2011 in the age group of under 18 year olds (U18). A total of 14 national teams took part in the two top division and division I tournaments between January 1 and April 3, 2011 .
The world champion became the team of the United States for the third time , which could defeat the arch-rivals from Canada 5-2 in the final . The German team finished the tournament in sixth place in the top division, while Switzerland managed to avoid relegation to division I in the top division by winning the decisive game against Japan . The team from Austria was in division I. third place, Russia managed to return to the top division undefeated.

The U18 world championship of the top division took place from January 1st to 8th 2011 in the Swedish capital Stockholm . The games were in the Stora Mossens Ishall (2,180 seats) and the district of Kista located Husby Ishall (1,980 seats) held.
Eight national teams took part, playing in two groups of four teams each. The United States secured the world title by beating Canada 5-2. It was the third title win for the Americans.

After the group matches in the preliminary round, the two group winners qualify directly for the semi-finals. The runners-up and thirds in the group each play a qualifying game for participation in the semi-finals. The fourth of the group games contest a best-of-three round for seventh place and relegation to Division I.

Relegation round
The relegation round was held in the " best-of-three " mode. Here the fourth placed in group A and the fourth in group B met. The team that won two of a maximum of three games stayed in the World Cup group, the loser was relegated to Division I.
