Career

Lara Stalder began ice hockey at HC Luzern in 1999 and played for their male junior teams until 2011, including in the 2009/10 season for the club's U-17 juniors in the highest junior league in Switzerland (top novices). In 2011 she moved to the youth department of the EHC Seewen, where she was also active for the top novices. In parallel to her assignments, she played from 2007 in the highest women's ice hockey league in Switzerland, today's Swiss Women's Hockey League A , first for SC Reinach , in the 2008/09 season for Küssnachter SC , then again until 2012 for SC Reinach and in the 2012/13 season for the women of the ZSC Lions . In 2013 Stalder won her first Swiss championship with the ZSC Lions .

In 2013 she finished business school in Lucerne and received a scholarship to the University of Minnesota Duluth , where she has since completed a business degree. Since then she has been playing for the UMD Bulldogs in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association . She quickly became one of the top performers in her team and received several personal awards. During the 2014/15 season, she moved from defender to center position .

In June 2016, Lara Stalder was the first Swiss woman to be selected by a team from the North American women's professional league NWHL . The Boston Pride team selected her in 20th place, but Stalder initially finished her studies at UMD and then moved to the SDHL for Linköpings HC , where she became the top scorer.

In May 2019, Lara Stalder moved from Linköpings HC to Brynäs IF within the SDHL , scored her 100th goal in the SDHL on January 25 and at that time clearly led the league's top scorer list.

International

Lara Stalder played with the U-18 national team at three junior world championships: 2010 in Division I and 2011 and 2012 in the top division. In the two top division tournaments, Stalder was the defender with the highest points among all participants with 6 and 7 points respectively, and she was honored as the best defender at the 2010 Division I tournament. In 2011 she also completed her first women's world championship and scored 2 assists in 5 games. In the following years she could not take part in the World Championships due to injuries. In 2014 she took part in the Winter Olympics in Sochi , where she won the bronze medal with the national team.
