Ryan Bourque (born January 3, 1991 in Topsfield , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who has played as the left winger for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League since September 2017 . His father, Ray Bourque, was one of the best defenders in NHL history; his older brother Chris Bourque is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
The 1.74 m tall winger , a son of Hockey Hall of Fame member Ray Bourque , began his career in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program , a youth federation program of the US Hockey Association USA Hockey , in the United States Hockey League . In 2008 he was drawn by the Remparts de Québec at the QMJHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 117 players, but initially remained in the USNTDP. In the 2009 NHL Entry Draft he was selected as the 80th player in the third round of the New York Rangers from the National Hockey League . Nevertheless, he played the next two years with the Remparts de Québec in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . In the summer of 2011, he switched to the New York Rangers franchise and was employed in their Connecticut Whale farm team , which has been renamed Hartford Wolf Pack since 2013 . On April 9, 2015, he came to his first and to date only NHL game when he was used for the Rangers against the Ottawa Senators . In February 2016, he moved to Washington Capitals in exchange with Chris Brown , who gave him to their farm team Hershey Bears , where he plays with his brother Chris .
In September 2017, he joined league rivals Bridgeport Sound Tigers .
International
After winning the silver medal with his team at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2008 at the turn of the year 2007/08 , Ryan Bouque took part in the U18 World Championships in 2008 and 2009 and the U20 World Championships in 2010 and with the US offspring Participated in 2011 and was able to win a medal each: While he was able to win a bronze medal in 2008 and 2011, he became world champion with the US youngsters in 2009 and 2010.
