Manuel Escandón (born July 28, 1991 ) is a Mexican ice hockey player who has been playing for Lomas Verdes in Mexico again since 2013.

Career

Manuel Escandón began his career as a hockey player with Lomas Verdes in Naucalpan de Juarez . When the semi-professional league Mexicana Elite was founded in 2010 , he moved to the Teotihuacan Priests , one of the four founding clubs of the league, with which he immediately became Mexican champions. In 2013 he returned to his home club.

International

In the junior division, Escandón stood for Mexico at the U18 World Championships 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2009 in Division II and 2008 in Division III as well as the U20 World Championships in Division II 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2009 and Division III 2011 , as he was named best defender on the ice. In 2011 he was also the team captain of the Mexican U20 selection .

With the men's national team , Escandón took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 . He also took part in the Olympic qualification for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver , in which the Mexicans failed in the pre-qualification despite a surprising 5-4 success against group winners Spain . At the Pan-American ice hockey tournament in 2014 , his team took second place.
