Keith Yandle (born September 9, 1986 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who has been with the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League since June 2016 . Before that, he spent almost nine years in the organization of the Phoenix / Arizona Coyotes and ran two seasons for the New York Rangers .
Career
Keith Yandle was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft as the 105th player from the Phoenix Coyotes , who have been operating under the name Arizona Coyotes since 2014. Then the defender was active for a year for the Moncton Wildcats from the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec before he was added to the squad of the farm team of the Coyotes from the American Hockey League , the San Antonio Rampage , before the 2006/07 season . During the same season he made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Coyotes.
If Yandle only got two scorer points in seven games in his first NHL season, in the 2007/08 season there were already twelve scorer points, including five goals, in 43 games and finally even 30 scorer points in the 2008/09 season , including four Goals in 69 games.
After nine years and over 550 NHL appearances, the Coyotes gave him to the New York Rangers in March 2015, including Chris Summers and a four-round vote for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft . In return, the Rangers transferred Anthony Duclair , John Moore and two entry-draft options (second round in 2015 and first round in 2016 ) to Arizona. After just over a year, Yandle's contract in New York was not renewed, so the Florida Panthers secured the negotiating rights to him for a six- round vote in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and a seventh-round vote in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and then secured him with a seven-year contract. In the Panthers jersey, Yandle recorded his best offensive statistic to date with 62 scorer points in the 2018/19 season, while at the same time he set a new franchise record in Florida.
International
At the international level, Yandle made his debut at the 2010 World Cup , where he completed six appearances for the national team of the United States .
