Evgenii Dadonov ( Russian Евгений Анатольевич Дадонов ; English transcription: Evgeni and Yevgeni Anatolyevich Dadonov * 12. March 1989 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who since July 2017 back with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League under Contract stands. The right winger had already played for the Panthers in the NHL from 2009 to 2012, but had since returned to his homeland and won the Gagarin Cup twice with the SKA Saint Petersburg . With the Russian national team he won the gold medal at the 2014 World Cup .
Career
Yevgeny Dadonow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of the HK tractor Chelyabinsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the playoffs of the second-rate Vysschaya League in the 2005/06 season . In this season he rose as a second division champion with his team in the Russian Super League . In this, the winger scored one goal in 24 games in the 2006/07 season and prepared another. He was then selected in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 71 players by the Florida Panthers . Initially, the left-handed shooter stayed in Russia, where he scored 15 points for tractor in 43 games in the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League .
For the 2009/10 season, the Panthers ordered the junior international to their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Rochester Americans , in which he immediately became a regular in his debut season and scored 41 points in 83 games. In the same season he made his NHL debut the Panthers, but remained pointless in four missions. Also the 2010/11 season began Dadonow with the Rochester Americans in the AHL and was called back to the NHL squad of the Panthers after 24 games, for which he scored a goal for the first time on his fourth mission. For the 2011 NHL All-Star Game , he was nominated as one of twelve rookies who took part in the Honda NHL SuperSkills .
On January 18, 2012, Dadonow was transferred to the Carolina Hurricanes by the Florida Panthers together with AJ Jenks in exchange for Jon Matsumoto and Mattias Lindström . In July 2012 he returned to Europe when he was signed by HK Donbass Donetsk from the Continental Hockey League and acted as assistant captain for the following two years. In addition, he was one of the best scorers in the team at HK Donbass and was consequently appointed to the Sbornaja World Cup squad in 2014.
After this success, he was signed by SKA Saint Petersburg in June 2014 and stayed with the team for three seasons. During this time he was able to win the Gagarin Cup twice with SKA. In July 2017, he again signed a contract with the Florida Panthers from the NHL, returning to North America after a five-year hiatus. At the Panthers, he promptly convinced, so he was the team's fourth-best scorer with 65 points in the 2017/18 season.
International
For Russia , Dadonow took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2007 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2008 and 2009 . He won a medal in all of his three tournaments, and in 2007 he was even U18 world champion. The striker also represented his home country in the 2007 Super Series .
In 2014 he won the gold medal with Sbornaja at the men's world championship and also represented his home country at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey .
