Noel Acciari (born December 1, 1991 in Johnston , Rhode Island ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League since July 2019 and plays for them on the position of the center . He previously spent four years with the Boston Bruins .

Career

Acciari moved to Providence College between 2007 and 2011 after high school at Bishop Hendricken School and Kent School . There he suspended his freshman year with ice hockey and only joined the college's ice hockey program at the beginning of the 2012/13 season - parallel to his studies. With this he ran in the following three years in the Hockey East , a division in the game operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In his third and final season, he won the national college championship with the team. He was also named Hockey East's best defensive striker.

Following his college days, Acciari, who had remained undrafted, was signed by the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League in June 2015 for two years. Since the beginning of the 2015/16 season he has been playing in the NHL squad as well as in their farm team , the Providence Bruins , in the American Hockey League . In the summer of 2017, his contract was extended for another two years and he established himself in the Bruins' squad in the NHL. In July 2019, Acciari joined the Florida Panthers as a free agent under a three-year contract .
