The Center 200 is a multi-purpose hall in the Canadian city of Sydney , maritime province of Nova Scotia . The home games of the ice hockey team Cape Breton Eagles , which play in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (QMJHL), are currently played in the hall . The Cape Breton Highlanders have been playing in the 2011 newly founded NBL Canada in Center 200 since 2016. The arena has a seating capacity for 4,670 people.
history
Center 200 was an important sports venue for the Canada Winter Games in 1987 . The hall was named in honor of the 200 year old founding of the city of Sydney. The building was thus a project of the century for the city. From 1988 to 1996 it was home to the Cape Breton Oilers ice hockey team , who played in the American Hockey League , until they moved to Hamilton , Ontario . Between 1993 and 1994 it was basketball team of the Cape Breton Breakers from the short-lived NBL Canada established there.
