The Center Gervais Auto is a multi-purpose hall in the Canadian city of Shawinigan , Quebec Province .
history
The hall was opened on December 27, 2008 with a home game of the Cataractes de Shawinigan and holds 4,300 spectators. Since then, the arena has also been the team's venue. Previously, the team played in the Aréna Jacques Plante from 1969 to 2008 , which was closed in December 2008 after the opening of the current arena. In the 2008/09 season, the team played the finals for the Coupe du Président for the first time in the Center Bionest , but lost in seven games against the Voltigeurs de Drummondville .
The venue was named Amphithéâtre Shawinigan from 2008 to 2009. This was followed by the name Center Bionest de Shawinigan until 2013. Since 2013, the home of the Cataractes de Shawinigan Center has been called Gervais Auto.
