The Eastlink Center is a multi-purpose hall with a business and convention center. The hall is located in the Canadian city ​​of Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island . The island is one of the country's three maritime provinces .

history

The hall was built from 1989 to 1990 and opened in the fall of that year under the name Charlottetown Civic Center . It was a venue for the Canada Winter Games 1991. The arena currently has 3,717 seats in the stands. There are also more than 1,000 transportable seats for the interior. There are also ten luxury suites, seven changing rooms, four canteens and three commentary booths. A mobile stage measuring 60 × 40 ft (18.29 × 12.19 m) is available for concerts and similar events . There are 800 parking spaces at the building. The ice surface with the dimensions 200 × 85 ft (60.96 × 25.91 m) meets the requirements of the NHL . The sports arena is the home of the since 2003 QMJHL playing Charlottetown Islanders (until 2013 PEI Rocket ). The Iceland Storm basketball team from the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) has been based in the hall since 2013 . On September 13, 2013, the city of Charlottetown announced that the Charlottetown Civic Center will be called the Eastlink Center . The Canadian telecommunications company EastLink secured the naming rights to the event hall.
