Career
Jaroslav Kristek began his career at HC Zlín , for whom he played in the Czech Junior Extra League between 1995 and 1998. In the 1998 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Buffalo Sabers in the second round in 50th place. He then moved to North America and completed two seasons in the Western Hockey League for the Tri-City Americans , in which he scored 137 points scorer in 115 WHL games. Because of this performance, he made it into the AHL squad of Rochester Americans , who were the Sabers farm team at the time, before the 2000/01 season . In addition to 125 appearances in the AHL, in which he scored 23 goals, he made six NHL games for Buffalo. In 2003 Kristek returned to his hometown and first played for HC České Budějovice, before moving back to his hometown for HC Hamé Zlín a year later. With this team he was Czech runner- up in the 2004/05 season . After 26 match days in the 2006/07 season , Kristek then moved to Karlovy Vary and was Czech runner-up there again in 2008 . A year later he won the Czech championship with Karlovy Vary.
In January 2010 he returned to HC Zlín in exchange for David Nosek , before moving to HC Košice in September of the same year . With his new club he became Slovak champion in April 2011 . After this success he moved within Slovakia to the KHL newcomer HC Lev Poprad . After this had no chance of reaching the play-offs in January 2012, Kristek was loaned to HC Košice.
Between 2012 and 2014 Kristek was under contract with HK Njoman Hrodna in the Belarusian extra league and won the Belarusian championship with them in both 2013 and 2014 . He also played eight games for partner team HK Dinamo Minsk in the KHL during the 2013/14 season .
