IIHF Federation Cup
The IIHF Federation Cup was one of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF been registered in the seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96 Hockey - European Cup competition for club teams . It was held in parallel to the European Cup .
mode
In the first year of the event, 13 Eastern European teams from twelve countries took part in the tournament. In three qualifying tournaments, the three participants in the final tournament for which the host was already seeded were determined in the knockout system .
The following year was played according to the same mode. Due to the increased number of participants - some Western associations had registered for the competition - a qualifying round was also introduced in which six participants in two groups were supposed to determine the two free places in the preliminary round.
