The IIHF Continental Cup 2018/19 was the 22nd edition of the of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF discharged competition are. The tournament started on September 28, 2018, the superfinal took place from January 11 to 13, 2019. A total of 17 teams from as many European countries played in a total of six tournaments.
mode
- The winner of the Continental Cup receives the right to start in the Champions Hockey League (CHL) for the following season
- No participant is automatically qualified for the final tournament, i. H. all teams have to qualify for the super finals through qualifying tournaments of the various rounds
- Teams from the countries of the founding leagues of the CHL are not allowed to participate in the Continental Cup (Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Austria)
With the KHL Medveščak Zagreb , however, a team from one of the CHL's founding leagues , namely the Austrian Erste Bank Ice Hockey League , took part in this year's competition. Zagreb had qualified as Croatian champions through their second team .

First round
Group A
The first round games took place in the Bulgarian capital Sofia from September 28-30, 2018 . Participants were SK Irbis-Skate as host, Vikingar Akureyri ( Iceland ), HC Bat Yam from Israel and Zeytinburnu Belediyesi SK ( Turkey ).
The winner of the first round qualifies for the second round. There he meets in Group C on teams already seeded for the second round.

Second round
The second round of the Continental Cup was played in two groups from October 19 to 21, 2018. The venues were Ritten in Italy (with host Ritten Sport , HDD Jesenice ( Slovenia ), MAC Budapest ( Hungary ) and the KHK Red Star Belgrade (Serbia)), as well as Riga in Latvia (with host HK Kurbads , HK Donbass Donetsk ( Ukraine )) , CH Txuri Urdin ( Spain ) and the qualifier from the first round, Vikingar Akureyrar ).
The first placed in the two groups reached the third round and met the teams seeded for the third round.

Third round
The third round of the Continental Cup was played in two groups from November 18 to 20, 2018. The venues were Lyon in France (with host Lions de Lyon , HK Arlan Kökschetau ( Kazakhstan ), HK Homel ( Belarus ) and the winner of Group C HK Kurbads Riga from Latvia ) and Belfast in Great Britain (with host Belfast Giants , GKS Katowice ( Poland ), KHL Medveščak Zagreb ( Croatia ) and the winner of Group B Ritten Sport from Italy ).
The first two of the two groups reached the final round.

Jesse Rohtla from GKS Katowice secured the top scorer's crown with seven points, and with five assists he was also the best assists. Mikołaj Łopuski and Darcy Murphy were the top scorers of the tournament with three goals each.
