The 2018/19 season was the 28th season of the Slovenian ice hockey league . The championship took place parallel to the international league competitions of the Alps Hockey League and the International Hockey League , in which teams from the Slovenian ice hockey league participated. The defending champion was HDD Jesenice , who lost to HK Olimpija from the Slovenian capital Ljubljana in the play-off final . HK Olimpija won the first Slovenian championship title in the club's history.

Attendees

The HK Playboy Slavija was replaced by his youth club HK Slavija Junior . The HK MK Bled and the HDK Maribor withdrew from the IHL back and play only in the Slovenian Hockey League.

mode

The seven teams play a round-trip round (12 games per team each), whereby the direct encounters between the AlpsHL and IHL are included in the league ranking. All participating teams qualified for the play-offs, with the main round winner going straight to the semi-finals. The play-offs were played in the quarter-finals and semi-finals in best-of-three mode, the final with a return leg.

Due to the more goals scored (7: 6), HK Olimpija Ljubljana won the third title of the season after winning the championship in the Alps Hockey League and winning the Slovenian cup competition in September 2018.
