The HDK Stavbar Maribor ( Hokejsko Drsalni Klub Maribor ) is a Slovenian ice hockey club from Maribor founded in 1993 . The home games are played in the 3000 seat Ledna Dvorana Tabor . The team plays in the highest class of the country, the Slovenian Ice Hockey League , or in the Slohokej League founded in 2009 .

The HDK Stavbar Maribor started playing in the Slovenian ice hockey league after its establishment in the 1993/94 season .

The team took part in the IIHF Continental Cup in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons. The team was eliminated from both competitions in the third round, recording one win and five losses.

Women's team

The women's team of the club, as a founding member of the league, took part in the EWHL between 2004 and 2011 . The women played under the name Terme Maribor for sponsorship reasons until 2009 , while the men's team took on as Stavbar Maribor.

In addition to the Slovenian championship, HDK Maribor has also been taking part in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga since 2011 .
