The 1999/2000 season was the ninth edition of the Slovenian ice hockey league after Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia . It was held with eight teams. The defending champion and new champion was HDD Olimpija Ljubljana .

Participant field and mode

Before the start of the Slovenian championship, HK Jesenice and HDD Olimpija Ljubljana took part in the first staging of the newly created and successor to the Alpine League competition of the Interliga . The clubs then played a simple round-trip round against each other in the first phase of the championship. The field of participants was then divided into a master group and a lower group. The upper group then carried out another double, the lower group a simple round trip. Then the playoffs followed.

Basic round

The basic round consisted of fourteen rounds. However, HK Bled and HK Kranjska Gora only played thirteen games as one of their encounters had to be canceled.
