Mike Burman (born April 1, 1974 in North Bay , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player ( defender ) who played for the EHC Munich and the Kaufbeurer Adler in his active career .

Career

Burman began his career in the 1990/91 season with the North Bay Centennials in the Ontario Hockey League , where he was under contract until the 1993/94 season. In the 1992 NHL Entry Draft , the Montréal Canadiens had selected him in the eighth round as 188th, but he did not make it into the National Hockey League . In the 1994/95 season Burman played for the Knoxville Cherokees in the East Coast Hockey League , but switched to league rivals Richmond Renegades during this , for which he also went on the ice in 1995/96. Again during the season he moved to the Jacksonville Lizard Kings before he moved to Germany to the Kaufbeurer Adlers in the German Ice Hockey League in the 1996/97 season.

Between 1997 and 1999 Burman played in Italy at HC Milano before moving to Olimpija Hertz Ljubljana in Slovenia for the 1999/00 season. There Burman was not happy and he moved again during the season to the Fort Wayne Komets in the United Hockey League . For the 2000/01 season Burman returned to the Italian Serie A and played for WSV Sterzing and 2001/02 for A&O Asiago. In 2002 Burman moved again to Germany, this time to EC Bad Nauheim in the 2nd Bundesliga , for which he played the 2002/03 season and the 2003/04 season.

Burman remained for the season 2004/05 in Germany and moved to the career people the Oberliga the EHC Munich , with the Burman the rise of managed and in which he also in the season 2005/06 was under contract. Burman spent his last year as a professional ice hockey player in the 2006/07 season in Norway with Stjernen Hockey .
