Damjan Dervarič (born February 6, 1982 in Ljubljana , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HKm Zvolen in the Slovakian extra league since 2014 .

Career

Damjan Dervarič began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , for whose professional team he was active in the Slovenian ice hockey league from 1999 to 2005 . During this period, the defender was Slovenian champion five times in a row between 1999 and 2004 . He then moved to Olimpija's league rivals HK Jesenice , with whom he also won the national championship in 2006, 2008 and 2009 and for which he was mainly used in the Austrian ice hockey league from the 2006/07 season .

The 2009/10 season began Dervarič at HDK Stavbar Maribor in the Slohokej League , but returned to Olimpija Ljubljana in January 2010, for which he was exclusively in the Slovenian ice hockey league on the ice until the end of the season. Since the 2010/11 season , the national player belonged again to the Olimpijas team from the Austrian ice hockey league. After four years he left his hometown again and in 2014 joined the HKm Zvolen , with whom he plays in the Slovak Extra League.

International

For Slovenia , Dervarič took part in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in European Division I in 1999 and 2000 as well as the U20-C World Championship in 2000 and, after switching to the current division system, at the U20 World Championships in 2001 in Division II and in 2002 in the Division I part.

In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in the top division in 2003 , 2005 , 2008 and 2011 . In 2004 , 2007 and 2012 he played in Division I. He also represented his colors in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in 2006 and 2010 .
